A series of British newspapers have confirmed that midfielder Philippe Coutinho will leave Barca to move to Aston Villa at the 2022 Winter Market.
Midfielder Philippe Coutinho arrived at the Camp Nou with a contract worth 160 million euros, but only brought disappointment. Injuries combined with a decline in form make this midfielder never show his best.
Barca are ready to let Coutinho leave in January 2022 on loan. Pushing the player born in 1992 to leave the Camp Nou helped them significantly reduce the salary fund, and at the same time facilitated the registration of Ferran Torres. Coutinho himself also wants to leave Barca to play regularly.

Philippe Coutinho returns to the Premier League with Aston Villa
Coutinho had the option to go to Flamengo but ultimately decided to return to England, where he once enjoyed the best form of his career with Liverpool. A series of British newspapers have confirmed that Philippe Coutinho will leave Barca to move to Aston Villa at the 2022 Winter Market.
According to Sky Sports, Barca and Aston Villa have basically reached an agreement for Coutinho. Accordingly, the player born in 1992 will play football at Villa Park on loan until the end of this season, the two sides are still waiting to determine if there is a mandatory buy-back clause.
The fact that no big team in England sent an offer was the reason why Coutinho chose Aston Villa, in addition, his top priority is to play regularly. Aston Villa are currently ranked 12th in the Premier League, it is difficult to expect anything big from this team.
However, to Aston Villa, Coutinho will be reunited with his former teammate Steven Gerrard, who is the head coach of the Villa Park team. Before that, the two were teammates at Liverpool. Gerrard knows Coutinho’s potential, and promises to make the most of him.
