Novak Djokovic equaled the record of 20 Grand Slam titles of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer after being crowned at Wimbledon on the evening of July 11 (Hanoi time).
Novak Djokovic won against Matteo Berrettini after 4 sets with the scores 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 to win the sixth Grand Slam tournament on grass. The world’s number one tennis player continuously exploited the opponent’s left shot to score points and finished the final after 3 hours and 24 minutes.

The 7th seed successfully saved 2 championship-points, but eventually succumbed after a series of durable balls with a net cut. Djokovic celebrates his third consecutive Grand Slam title of the year, and his 20th career.

The Wimbledon final 2021 is a match between Novak Djokovic and Matteo Berrettini, the two best tennis players this season. Djokovic is having an impressive series of results at the All England Club when he has only lost a set, while Berrettini has won all 11 grass matches.

Djokovic opened with a difficult game. The first seed served poorly, made 2 double errors and had to save a break. In the 4th game, he successfully broke the break to lead 3-1. “Nole” held a big advantage when he led 5-2 and got a set-point in Berrettini’s handover game. However, the Italian tennis player played resiliently, preserving the game after 8 times.

In the next game, Berrettini reclaimed the break with a scoring attack. In the tie-break series, the world No. 9 player competed with excitement. After being leveled 3-3 by Djokovic, Berrettini had one more mini-break, before ending the set with a direct score serve.

Berrettini had a great mental advantage, but Djokovic played coldly. The number one player in the world soon had 2 breaks to lead 3-0. The left shots of the Italian tennis player have not been very effective. He only asked for a break once and lost 4-6.

The left-stuffing style continues to be shown and effective by Djokovic. Berrettini made 2 backhand errors and lost the break in the second handover game of the 3rd set. Djokovic played bravely to successfully save 2 breaks, overcoming the opponent’s attacking pressure to win 6-4.

In a must-win set, Berrettini firmly grasped the serve advantage to lead in the early games. However, the Italian player kept the advantage after 6 games, before losing the break after a double serve error. Berrettini cracked one more game and lost 3-6.

Djokovic equals Nadal and Federer’s record of 20 Grand Slam titles. This is the third season “Nole” has won 3 Grand Slams, after 2011 and 2015. He still has the US Open this season to complete the quadruple and rise to the top in the grand title race.
