New Endowment Fund Established to Benefit Drexel Golf

Coming off the most successful season in school history, including a second-place finish at the CAA Championships, Drexel Golf received a boost with the establishment of the Drexel Golf Endowment Fund, which serves to secure the long-term success and sustainability of the program. Under the direction of sixth-year head coach Ben Feld ’13, the team has expanded its profile, competing across the country and recruiting nationally and internationally. The endowment was created thanks to the generosity and leadership support of former player Matt Hilbush ’97 and his wife Theresa ’96.

“What Matt and Theresa have meant to our program can’t simply be calculated by the donations they’ve so generously made….everything that they’ve done has gone such a long way to enhance the student-athlete experience at Drexel,” stated Feld.

Gifts to the Drexel Golf Endowment are invested and grow each year with a portion being used annually to provide a permanent, sustained source of funding that will support and benefit the golf program in perpetuity. The Fund impacts the student-athletes by providing additional resources that will allow the team to travel and compete in top events and at prestigious courses, as well as provide support for recruiting, equipment, technology, nutrition, health and wellness.

“Drexel University has impacted our lives in so many positive ways,” remarked Matt Hilbush. “We wanted to establish the Drexel Golf Endowment Fund so that we could impact the players experience, while ensuring the success of the program for years to come.”

Individuals contributing to the endowment directly support the student-athletes, while demonstrating their pride and leaving a lasting impact on the program. Gifts can be made online, by check or you can discuss ways to increase your impact by making a planned or deferred gift. Donors making gifts of $5,000 or more to the Drexel Golf Endowment Fund will be recognized on a plaque located in the Hilbush Golf Center.
