On the night of The Best 2021 gala, FIFA awarded 2 special awards, one of which belonged to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo did not enter the top 3 final candidates in the race to win The Best – Best Male Player 2021, but he was still present at the end of the gala night to receive the “FIFA Special Award”. This is the award given to the male player with the most goals at the national team level.

The award for Ronaldo was presented shortly after Lewandowski’s The Best.
Ronaldo has scored 115 goals for the Portuguese team, an achievement that no other player in history can match. If only the names are still playing, CR7 is far ahead of 2 colleagues behind Sunil Chhetri (India) and Lionel Messi (Argentina) by 35 goals.
“A great award. I want to thank my teammates in the national team. These successes will motivate me to try harder. I still have the desire to conquer more titles. I love football, want to play for another four or five years,” Ronaldo said after receiving the honor from FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
The remaining special award belongs to Christine Sinclair, the all-time leading female goalscorer at the national team level. The Canadian striker has scored 188 goals in his peak career.
Before receiving the individual award, Ronaldo was also honored by FIFA in the team of the year. He joined Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland side by side in attack.
After returning from Zurich, Ronaldo will return to practice to prepare for the match against Brentford in the Premier League at dawn on January 20 (Hanoi time). Currently, MU is forced to win to raise the opportunity to compete for a place in the top 4.
