After a grim defeat against Senegal, Egypt was unable to win a ticket to the 2022 World Cup finals.

The talent of Mohamed Salah

Despite winning 1-0 in the first leg, Egypt could not take advantage of the lead and let Senegal equalize the total score at 1-1 in the second leg. This result put the 2 teams winning and losing by penalty shootout. And Sadio Mane and his teammates won the final (with a penalty score of 3-1).

This is a bitter end for the Pharaohs when they also let Senegal defeat in a series of brainstorms in the Africa Cup of Nations final. And from consecutive unhappy results, coach Carlos Queiroz decided to part ways with Egypt.
