Coach Li Xiaopeng said that the Chinese team will play fully in two matches on the occasion of the Lunar New Year in the third qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia.

The Chinese team started training on January 12 in Shanghai with 27 players, out of 52 names on the summons list. The remaining players will join forces later, while playing in the national cup.

In the interview, new coach Li Xiaopeng said it was an honor to lead the national team and the responsibility was great. When talking about the team’s immediate goals, coach Li said: “We will try not to lose in two matches during the Lunar New Year and give fans across the country a satisfactory answer.”

When asked about the personnel change, Mr. Li said: “The most important thing is not to let the players panic mentally, because they are trying to change something. Inappropriate training methods will cause problems. Injury to players. Don’t bring negative things to people just because you want to rush to change something.”

According to Sina , the Chinese team will have 2 internal matches before leaving for Japan on January 23. The whole team is still practicing in Shanghai with pre-planned lesson plans.

The Chinese team will play the next 2 matches away from home and is said to have many changes in the squad. Many young players can be allowed to play when the Chinese team does not have many opportunities to compete for tickets to the 2022 World Cup.

“The most important thing is that the players have to play to their best, be themselves whether the opponent is Japan or Vietnam. As long as the players play to their full advantage, the team will succeed. I hope they will. will have good performances and make personal impressions. In the long run, I hope to help the Chinese team be at the top level in Asia and strive for the World Cup,” coach Li said.

The Chinese team is ranked 5th in Group B of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia with 5 points after 6 matches. They will meet Japan on January 27, before moving to Vietnam to meet teachers and coaches Park Hang-seo on February 1 (the 1st of the Lunar New Year).
