The Portuguese leader is still trusted by the leadership team after the recent bad results.

According to Corriere dello Sport , the directors of AS Roma met with coach Jose Mourinho after the 3-4 defeat to Juventus. However, the senior figures of Roma did not consider the possibility of sacking the Portuguese military leader.

The owner of Roma and the directors are said to still support Mourinho after the former MU coach presented about future plans for the “Wolves”. Roma’s dressing room is described as still captivated by the spirit of the “Special One”, but Mourinho’s statements after the defeat to Juve are expected to cause division within the “Wolves”.

Roma led Juventus 3-1 at home Olimpico, but lost 3-4 at the end of the match. The captain of the “Wolves” missed the opportunity to level the score 4-4 when he missed the penalty kick in the context of Juve remaining 10 people.

After this result, Mourinho stressed that the Roma players had “weak mentality”. “The loss hurt me. Everything could have been easier. My players were talented but mentally weak. Roma did not have a leader player who was able to help his teammates control their emotions. on the field,” said Mourinho.

This is AS Roma’s ninth defeat in 21 Serie A matches this season, and the Giallorossi’s worst result in 43 years. Roma’s goal this season is to enter the Top 4 to attend the UEFA Champions League, but Mourinho’s team is 9 points behind the 4th ranked team Atalanta despite playing 1 more game.
