Soulness demands more of Van Dijk

 Graeme Souness insists he wants to see Virgil van Dijk play with fury, following the centre-back’s stunning return from injury.

 Van Dijk is really classy.

When the 30-year-old suffered a severe knee injury last season, Liverpool really missed him. And Van Dijk has come back strong this season, in top form. Recently, he put in another solid performance as Liverpool beat West Ham with a single goal from Sadio Mane.

Thus, Van Dijk has had his 60th unbeaten game at home in the Premier League for Liverpool. That number is a record, as Van Dijk beat former Man Utd star Lee Sharpe (59 games).

Speaking on Sky Sports about Liverpool’s win, Graeme Souness insisted that Van Dijk never looked like he was struggling.

“I want to see Virgil van Dijk angry,” Souness said . “ I have never seen a great player who was not angry . He’s not angry. Everything was too easy for him.”

Besides, Souness praised Colombian rookie Luis Diaz : “He will lift everyone up. Diaz is the type of player who can support you until the end. He has a quick, direct style of play. and energetic”.
